EASY CAKES for Hard Times, Cake Recipe Zine
This collection of illustrated cake recipes was written and illustrated by LK James in the Spring of 2020, during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They are recipes designed for the average kitchen, for everyone, for every day, to share with other people or happily enjoy alone. Little kitchen incantations written so that we might conjure and commune with one another in times of distance or difficulty.
Some of the Easy Cakes included: Chocolate Birthday Depression Cake, Banana Blueberry Breakfast Cake, Carrot Ginger Bread (cake).
A 24-page zine, printed on French Paper with soy-based Risograph ink (sunflower and steel blue), saddle sewn binding, measures 5.25x7.25”.
The first edition was printed in May of 2020, it is now in its second printing.
